Large Scale Breeding Project!Sorry for not replying to many of your emails. I have been busy starting a large scale breeding for my fishes.
At the moment I will be putting aside approximately 500 - 1,000 pieces for this purpose. So far we have already set up an
area for the breeding and the fishes are already in. Keeping fingers cross now and hoping we see some babies soon.If we succeed,
then we will be adding another 1,000 to 2,000 pieces for this purpose. So those of you who have spas and who needs restocking
of these fishes here in Malaysia, hopefully we would be able to supplying you soon and thank you for all your enquiries.

Emails & RepliesMy apologies to everyone who emailed to me. I am sorry that I dont have the time to individually reply to each
of your emails, so i hope by posting replies here, it will benefit the others. Croatian friend - congrats, looks
like you are going to be a daddy soon! haha...just keep feeding the adults, both adults and babies love flakes, but they
just about eat anything, they arent fussy eaters. My tank temperature is between 28-31 deg. They love the warm water. I only
put plants and stones for the babies to hide in the tank. I know many get eaten up, but cant be helped in my case. Sorry cant
sell to Australia because they are very strict on importation of animals, fish and fauna and it wont be able to
get into the country.

I guess every one have been to the many web sites dedicated to the
Garra Rufa. When I first got interested in these fishes, searching the internet was so so confusing. There were so many pictures
and descriptions of fishes. Different people were claiming their fish to be the Dr. Fish. I got so confused, but with
the proper help from my local fish importer and hours of searching on the internet, I managed to determine that the species
purchased from Germany was indeed the Dr. Fish. There are so many fakes going around, and so many varieties of this fish,
that many look so similar to the real Garra Rufa. One needs to be careful when purchasing. For those who want compare the
different pictures of the various Garras, do check out this website : http://www.loaches.com/species-index/pictorial-species-search-index/garra-species
I
became fascinated with these fishes on my first trip to a Fish Spa in Singapore. Normally, fishes would run away when humans are
around, but with Dr. Fish, once you immerse your hands or feet into the water, you get hundreds of these little fishes
swimming towards you. At first I have to admit, I was a bit hesitant, especially when i watched in horror as the hundreds
of fishes swam towards my feet! At the beginning, it was so ticklish, I was so close to biting my tongue off, but being
a guy, had to act macho in front of my girlfriend and the ladies at the spa!
Breeding Garra Rufa-
From my observations, my Garra have started breeding after approximately 7 - 8 months. My set-up is as follows : A 4 feet
aquarium with coral pieces to stabilize the ph of the water at approximately ph 7. Approximately 30
pieces of Garra, no particular ratio between males and females as I am still not able to 100% distinguish the males from
the females, only that the females have a rounder stomach when they are pregnant. I feed them twice a day, and they just about
eat any food, flakes, pellets, etc. I do water change once a week, approximately 15%. I am told that they are
egg scatterers but till today, I have not seen or noticed any eggs. It might be that they are just too small. I only notice
Baby Garra swimming in my tank. New Babies would appear weekly. I would catch the babies out, to avoid the parents eating
them.
Thanks for visiting.
